Dissecting A Camera

Been a while huh? Here's a story I've been meaning to type for a while now....
Well, the camera that I had last year recently stopped working and we bought a new one. I'm kinda into seeing how the insides of things are and how they work, so I decided to take my old camera apart. Good thing I have my four-in-one screwdriver that comes in handy a lot. As I got further and further towards the lens, I got more and more excited. Once I actually got the lens out of the main camera, I realized that it was similar to an eyeball. Which, of course, reminded me of the day we dissected a sheep eyeball in science class. The outer-most part of the eye (sclera) would be the black plasctic attaching the lens to the main camera part. The wire coming out the back of the lens would be the optic nerve, the inner lens that actually takes the pictures looks like a pupil, and the glass over it is the cornea.

I know, I know...Carolyn would think of this, right? Yes, because I'm a total nerd.
And by the by -- I've only done ONE thing on my summer list....ONE!!! And I only have 68 more days of summer left! I need to get moving....

Thoughts While Making A PB&J

So, what makes me angry is that I can't have both crunchy and creamy peanut butter. Because if you put them both on, you're just going to end up with crunchy. Unless you put crunchy on one side and creamy on the other. But then after I put one on each side, I go to get jam from the can, bottle thing. Yet I can't use the knife in the jam that I used in the peanut butter because then I will get peanut butter in the jam and then my dad will get angry at me. And the same with jam in peanut butter which ever I do first. So then I have to wash off the knife but then I have a wet knife. And I don't want to put a wet knife in the jam, because then there will be water in my jam. But I can't wipe the excess peanut butter left on the knife onto a towel, because then my dad will get mad about the fact that there is peanut butter on a clean towel. Thus, I had to use a wet knife in my jam. After spreading my knife cleanly across the bread, I neatly place the sandwich on a clean plate, and the knife in the sink. And all of this could be reversed if it were jam first and then peanut butter, but still the same problem.

Something so simple turned into a complicated dilema by yours truly.

A Plethora Of Thoughts

1) These animal bands are killing me. And someone (Jenna Lemon) literally tried to stab me today because I wouldn't give her my seahorse. It's a crazy world out there...

2) There is a Honor's Night tonight. But I'm not going. It's not that I didn't get the honor or didn't get the invitation to the event, but rather...I didn't want to go. And anyways, I feel terrible right now. Cramps are horrible.

3) The book The Giver is actually an astonishingly wonderful book. The author, Lois Lowry, did a great job explaining things that us, as a population, have experienced, to someone who hasn't. Someone who hasn't seen color, or felt love. A human being not having pain, other than a scrape on the knee or a finger caught in a door. It's all very complicated, but only the best can succeed with writing such a novel.

Summer is soon, and I'm ready to boogie. I've already made a fun checklist to accomplish this summer. Maybe I'll type it up later. In another post. As of right now...
Cheerio my fellow aliens!

Converse

BLUE SCADOO, WE CAN TOO! Alrighty, then. So, after a grueling day at school, I went shopping with me mum. I couldn't help but be drawn to the cutie behind the check-out...number 6. I tore my eyes away long enough to see that in the shoes isle, were some converse. Converse that may actually fit my feet. I've never understood converse, why they are/were such a big rave. Maybe it's the colors, or the styles, or maybe they're just comfy. Well, I have a friend who has had hers for a while now and the shoes (along with her) went to Japan, Thailand, Korea, and China, so I'm guessing they're also very durable. I decided to see how they were. So I bought a pair of denim blue low tops. They are extremely comfortable. I'm just having trouble matching them with pants.
In other news, my choir's State Choral Festival is this Wednesday. Which means, we have to wear our ugly, black, nylon, evil dresses to school. O_O NOOOOO. But we also have two hours to hang out with friends on the bus. That will be fun. At least....it was last year.....

Hold Me...Please

Ello! Science has always been my favorite subject in school, other than band. I'm a HUGE science nerd. And as I sit here and write this, I look beyond the computer and see with my hazel eyes, a hand-drawn Periodic Table. =] That sounds amazing. My favorite element is silver. Only because it reminds me of my nerdy friend. Did you know that Au, Ag, and others that don't really match the name are usually from the Latin names for the elements?
I have to say, I'm excited to get out of school, 23 and half more days!!! I can't wait until I can go to the beach, and hang our with friends. And...well....cute guys are at the beach :D Haha! What are you doing this summer? And by the way, my friend and I want to do this project. This project involves using audio from other TV shows and commercials and maybe video games. Does anyone know where to get those, legally?

Welcome

This is my first blog. I hope ya'll enjoy it. To get things started, I am one who likes to use big words, so if you clicked on this and are just tuning in, you may want to grab a dictionary. I'll probably talk about books to check out and fan fictions. Maybe video games. I'll begin by saying 3 things-

1- Susane Colasanti is amazing and writes awesome books. Like- Waiting For You, When it Happens, and Take Me There. And she just recently released her far out new piece of literature- Something Like Fate. Haven't read it yet, but I plan to, and I'll get back to you on it.

2- I have not watched Doctor Who, but I was told that as a nerd, I should watch this. What's your advice? Should I?

3- SANTA IS REAL.

I'll come back tomorrow with something :)Stay Beautiful.
